I worked with Emily to dial in my training and race nutrition in preparation for the Tokyo Marathon. I had run several fulls before but was looking for support on whether I was fueling enough on a daily basis and making sure I had a game plan for nutrition on race day. Emily covered all of that and more! We dove into daily nutrition, covered pre-long run meals, long run/race nutrition, and came up with a carb loading strategy prior to the race. She also helped me with recovery nutrition and how my nutrition changes when not in training season. Along the way we tested and learned with different foods and strategies so I now have a built in system I can work from for all future races. It all paid off because I hit a PR in the marathon with my first sub 4-hour time! Emily’s program was a game changer and I truly believe that much of my success was thanks to her support in learning to manage my nutrition as an athlete! Could not recommend her enough!
General sports nutrition is just that, general, and I had reached the end of being able to apply it myself. Emily went the extra mile with me in our work together, helping me fine tune my pre-run, intra-run, post-run, and overall fueling. Surprise, surprise, despite my best attempts, I was still underfueling.
Working with Emily helped me find more energy for my runs, address GI upset, and more. Emily was gentle, kind, and non-shaming in her approach. She did not expect me to change everything overnight, but rather provided simple suggestions and accessible solutions.
Emily answered so many questions for me! I learned a lot both by taking Emily’s course, and by working with her 1:1. I have a lot more I want to do to optimize nutrition, but now I have the knowledge to do so. The optimization I did apply led me to a marathon PR of over 17 minutes!
To anyone on the fence about nutrition coaching, I highly recommend it! It can be for an indefinite period of time, or for a season. Either way, it will be worth it!
Late last year a friend of mine convinced me to register for a 70.3 Ironman. At the time, I knew this would be a huge mental and physical undertaking, however I was ready for a challenge. My physical training began January 1, 2024. From the time I registered to the first day of training I had done a fair bit of research to learn about how to train and why. I worked with a very instrumental app that fed me my daily workouts. What the app lacked however was the nutrition side that was even more crucial to the success of the training and the race itself. Thank heavens I found Emily Moore on Instagram. Her social feed @thedietitanrunner presented me with the opportunity to connect with her and hire her services. Working with Emily was an absolute dream. She has the most caring and gentle nature to make you feel confident that everything is an exercise in learning and growing. Her weekly get togethers provided me with the opportunity to share successes and misses. Together we grew to build a phenomenal nutrition program that would foster my training and my race. Would I recommend her to someone - heck yes! Why wait for a race or a problem, start now and understand what exactly food does for the body. It is a game changer both mentally and physically. Stop letting the big box companies tell you what is right and wrong. Instead work with a dietitian, like Emily, who will work with you to understand the lifestyle you deserve. Your body and mind will thank you, whether you are an athlete, want to be an athlete or want to just live a healthy life. Emily Moore is your dietitian for all your needs. Please reach out to her. You will not be disappointed - trust this top third 50 year old Ironman 70.3 finisher.
When I started working with Emily, I felt like I was doing okay with my daily nutrition, but I wasn’t confident that I was getting adequate nutrition to sustain my activity in the long run. She helped me see the areas I was doing well with and where I needed to fill in the gaps. I gained confidence in my food choices and expanded my knowledge about what foods satisfied my nutritional needs. I also knew I needed help with during-run nutrition because I had gone years without ever fueling during a run. While I could finish a run that way, I always felt exhausted and run-down the rest of the day. I knew that wasn't good and wasn't how I wanted to feel. Emily helped me create a plan and gradually implement different aspects to fuel my runs better. Now, I can’t imagine doing a long run without my fuel and hydration! It has been a total game changer!! Emily helped me achieve all my goals and helped me improve my mindset especially when it came to how I viewed food. I would definitely recommend her as your coach! At first, I wasn’t sure if one-on-one coaching was right for me, but it gave me confidence and the tools I needed to move forward.
After multiple marathon attempts ending in leg cramps, I knew I needed to make improvements to my nutrition. Through working with Emily for 3 months, I achieved this goal and more! I have become so confident in my daily nutrition and the way it contributes to my recovery and overall performance. She created a race day fueling plan that propelled me to a 1:17 half marathon, and I'm confident will contribute to many more PRs in the future. I have always struggled with eating a lot, but with Emily's help I turned that around and I feel like a completely new person! I would recommend Emily's services to anyone looking to take their running performance to the next level, or simply improve their day to day nutrition. She is the absolute best!!
If you are looking to change your relationship with food in a sustainable and compassionate way, look no further! Emily is the specialist that you need. Working with her in the last few months has helped me achieve goals I never thought I would in such a short period of time and also made me realize just how much potential I had if I used the right tools. Emily’s humane and kind approach to nutrition has helped me overcome the restrictive relationship I had with food
and has helped me evolve beyond a superficial body image approach. I have come to better understand the benefits of each macronutrient and why they are essential not only for my performance as a runner and amateur triathlete, but in my day to day life. Every week, after our calls, I noticed something positively different in my habits and my mindset. People around me also started to notice just how peaceful my relationship with food had become and how I no longer was obsessed with what I ate and when. Emily’s approach to nutrition is by far one of the
best ways in my opinion to build sustainable and lasting habits in your life. Her method is well structured, tailored to your needs and your rate of progression and is built to stand the test of time. Although worries and concerns about food, body image and performance are normal things in our fast-pace social media heavy lives, I know that I have the tools to overcome them, thanks to Emily’s coaching and mentorship. After your first call, Emily will feel like that one favorite
friend you have that is always rooting for you and that believes in your potential to achieve great things. I am so thankful I contacted Emily to start my journey and I cannot recommend her enough to anyone who is looking for some nutrition advice. Trust the process and try things out! Without her help, I never would’ve achieved my best time yet on a sprint triathlon.
I have been a long distance runner for 17 years, and recently I was struggling during my training with low energy levels, persistent fatigue before, during, and after my workouts, and "hitting the wall" during long runs and during races. The low energy was seriously taking a toll on my motivation to train, and I knew ultimately I needed to make a lifestyle change to keep up with the demands of my training volume so I could meet my goals. More importantly, I wanted to feel better overall. I was consumed by societal misconceptions about nutrition and exercise, yet everything I tried previously to "be healthy" was not sustainable (restricting calories, eliminating things from my diet, intermittent fasting). When I first started working with Emily I knew immediately we were a great fit, and she helped me transform my mindset around nutrition by encouraging me to make small incremental changes each week that ultimately led to a lifestyle change and sustainable habits. I learned I had been creating rules around food that I didn't even realize I had - habits that had been ingrained in me all my life, and through our work together, Emily encouraged me and was my biggest cheerleader. We first started by working on my hydration, and she helped me realize that all this time I had been operating from a place of dehydration and under-fueling. While we were working together, I had two half marathons scheduled, and we were able to test out my nutrition plan before, during, and after my races. The transformation was super apparent after my last race when I realized I not only felt great during the race and didn't hit "the wall," but I also still had energy afterwards to enjoy the rest of my day and not feel totally depleted! When I shared this with Emily, she said, "You did all the work! I was just here to support you with your goals!" This is a testament to how compassionate she is and how much she goes above and beyond for her clients. If you are looking for a sign to work with her, take this as your sign and go for it!
I was looking for a coach who would help me improve my nutrition overall and help me change
my relationship with food. I was quite the emotional eater and restricted many foods in my life
that led to overeating and just an overall sense of fatigue and disgust! I have loved running in the
past and wanted to get back into it and felt Emily would be perfect to help me get back there!
Working with Emily was simple and straight forward. She was flexible, honest, and resourceful.
At the start of my journey with Emily, I felt I had to restrict certain foods in my life to be
“healthy,” and now I understand that being healthy doesn’t mean restricting and that my nutrition
journey won’t look the same as anyone else’s. I have a MUCH better relationship with food, I’m
no longer emotionally eating, and I feel very confident starting my running journey once again!
If you are on the fence about starting 1:1 coaching with Emily, don’t be! You’ll get a plan that is
tailor-made for YOU and a coach who cares deeply about your nutrition journey! Thank you, Emily!!
Working with Emily has been a total game changer, not only for my running, but for my life! Before I started working with Emily, I was under fueling, struggling to get through my workouts and just generally feeling exhausted. As much as I never really wanted to acknowledge it, food had such a hold on me. That hold impacted my ability not only to run, but to get through my day. I knew I needed to heal my relationship with food. I now see food as fuel and not something to fear. One of the biggest joys in working with Emily however, has been healing my mind. I’m no longer bound by rules, I enjoy meals out with friends, and I feel better than I ever have. Mind, body and soul…I am completely transformed
I reached out to Emily to help mostly with daily nutrition. I felt like nutrition was a tool in my tool belt that I was missing to help with my running performance. Emily and I spent 3 months doing 1:1 coaching and it was such a great decision! I always thought I was doing a good job getting in the right amount of carbohydrates and not enough protein, but we discovered my protein intake was where it should be and my carbs (and overall calories) were too low. Emily helped with ideas on where we could add more carbs into my diet and within a few days of making tweaks, I noticed a huge difference in fullness for longer and no longer feeling hungry at night. We also dove into intra-run nutrition which showed I wasn’t hydrating enough which was causing post-run nausea. I feel so much more confident around my nutrition thanks to Emily! I would highly recommend anyone struggling in this area to reach out and work with this amazing woman!
Before working with Emily, I was doing my best to fuel myself as an endurance athlete, but I always felt like something was missing. Even with experience, there’s always room to learn, and Emily helped me fill in those gaps in a way that finally made everything click. She didn’t overwhelm me — she gave me simple, clear guidance that made training and race fueling feel doable, not stressful. With her support, I went into my big races, including my 3-day trail event, feeling strong, confident, and actually excited about fueling instead of second-guessing myself. Emily doesn’t just give you a plan; she teaches you the why and genuinely cares about you as an athlete and a person. I walked away feeling more prepared, more capable, and more in tune with my body. I’d recommend her to any runner who wants to feel strong, fueled, and supported in the best way possible.
